Free Benefit Concert – Music That Matters

The UCLA Extension DIY Music Marketing class presents a FREE concert to benefit Education Through Music – LA

Friday, May 20, 2011 – 7pm @ Key Club Plush Lounge

California students lag behind the national average in hours of arts instruction by up to 50% less in music and visual arts at the elementary level. A group of students in the UCLA Extension DIY Music Marketing class are helping to bring awareness to this deficit through a “Music That Matters” charity concert at the Key Club Plush Lounge in Hollywood. The concert is a showcase of 15 bands and is free to the public ages 18 and over. One hundred percent of proceeds from sponsorships and raffles will support Education Through Music – Los Angeles.

The concert showcase promises to be an exciting eclectic mix of indie music including acoustic singer/songwriters, alternative-pop, hip hop, rock, metal and ska as well as DJs and hip-hop dancers.
